Unicorn Skips often get asked similar questions regarding hiring a skip. We have decided to include a list of frequently asked questions to help answer any questions you may have. 1.How much does skip hire cost?
We provide cheap skips which are incredibly competitively priced, and we are happy to provide free quotes upon any enquiry.
2.What items am I allowed to put inside my skip?
You may put hard core, bricks and rubble into our skips as well as soil (which is not contaminated) and any domestic waste including fixtures, furnishings and furniture. Non electrical fittings, metal, plastics and wood can also be put into the skip. All skips should not be filled past the level load.
3.What items am I not allowed to put in the skip?
We are legally unable to remove and take away any waste electrical equipment away with us. This includes any fridges, fridges, TVs or computer monitors. We are also not allowed to take any tyres or asbestos, chemicals ,solvents, gas bottles, clinical waste (including syringes, medicine bottles and soiled dressings) and also liquids (including oil). Plasterboard should be put into a separate skip.
4.Do skips require a permit?
You will require a permit if you would like to put a skip in a public area on a road. permits can be obtained from your regional council authority as it is illegal to place a skip on a public property without getting permission first. 5.What do I do once I have finished with my skip or need it to be removed or emptied?
Once finished with your skip, please contact us to arrange for us to remove it or replace it with an empty one.
